Spring is here!

I'm so happy that it's Spring. Today it is 80 degrees outside, and it's beautiful. Too bad I'm stuck indoors teleworking today. Luckily, I got up early to start working, so I can close up my laptop at 3:30pm and go outside and enjoy the weather.

Not too much going on with me. I was thinking about what I had planned for the summertime this year and it's not much. I plan on playing on my company softball team again (reliving my high school years, lol) and working out. That's about it. I'm still working on saving up money to go to Paris, but I might in fact go back to London instead, depending on how some things shake out. We'll see.

Until then, I'm just working, making money and surviving for now. My writing inspiration has unfortunately been coming slowly, but I'm hoping to make some progress soon. I have some great ideas swirling in my head that need to be put down on paper. Here's hoping that inspiration comes.

Update

Haven't felt like blogging too much lately... but I guess I can add in a few things that have been going on with me in the last few weeks:
  • I'm close to writing 10,000 words for my novel. YAY!
  • I've been feeling a lot healthier and happier in the last week or so. I think my body is almost back to normal, after 8 years of crazy.
  • I've been watching True Blood on HBO. It's a good show.
  • Sam has kept on being Sam. Lots of meowing, though.
  • I saw Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit. It was ok.
Anyhoo... still like Cumberbatch... just not as much as I used to. It's a relief. But I still think that the man is wonderful. Check him out on Sesame Street below.

Until next time...

Stagnation, sickness and other things I feel like talking about

So my life has been full of stagnation, sickness and lots of other random crap over the last month. I will highlight in list form:

I kind of sort of not really have been writing. Haven't felt too inspired lately.

I acquired some bacteria in my system that was making it's way up to my kidneys that caused me to go to the hospital for two days. It was annoying. But now I am feeling better.

I've been really lazy.

This is 40 was a pretty good movie. Oblivion was "meh".

I'm still obsessed with Benedict Cumberbatch. And Star Trek into Darkness comes out on Wednesday. And I am excited.

I am tired. More often than not.

I am uninspired.

So, stuff has been happening, but I've been really lazy. This crappy economy has really left me jaded, and my indifference and laziness towards it and everything else has motivated me to do absolutely nothing. I can't tell if this is just a pause in my life or just me really wanting to abandon everything and go live on the beach as a bum for the rest of my days.

Is this normal?

Hmmm. I don't know. I want to do stuff, but I can't seem to find a way to do it.

Meditating is really boring. And I haven't gotten any answers from it. Am I supposed to? I thought so... but still. Nothing.

I'm just here for now. I'm hoping that something exciting will happen or that I'll just get it together and move forward, but I don't know. I guess time will tell.

Sorry to be so boring.

PS - If you want to leave me a message on my blog, you have to do it through Open ID. Just type any name and email address in there. I'll still get it. You have to leave me a message this way (or use your Google account), b/c I really don't like spam in my Inbox.

Here's a pic of Benedict. That's all I got for now.

Where have you been?

Still secretly wishing that I lived in a lighthouse... but I digress.

I haven't blogged in awhile. I really didn't get around to it and feel like it because the month of September was a bit stressful for me. I moved, I stressed over moving, and I stressed because I didn't have any money to decorate my new apt. And I was stressed, period, trying to acclimate to a new environment, which I love, but takes some getting used to.

I'm not used to walking a mile to getting to the parking deck from my apartment and then going down a small spiral maze to get out of my apartment building. As much I like being able to park in the parking deck, I don't like driving up and down it every day. I have to add an extra 5 to 10 minutes on my commute just to accomodate that small trip.

On to the good stuff... it's quiet in my apartment! I don't have crazy neighbors, and the only noise I hear is street noise, which is pretty minimal. Just cars going up and down the street. It's nice. I haven't had this much quiet since 2006. I'm happy.

Sam acclimated to the new place with no problems. I'm happy about that. I was also stressed because I bought her all new cat furniture. And a new litter box. I still have to buy her a cat bed. But she can use the couch for now for nap time.

So I'm slowly getting my groove back. I like living in Fairfax Corner; I like walking to Pinkberry and Caribou Coffee and I like stumbling home from the bar. Ha ha... I don't go to the bar that often though. I don't need to be wasted all of the time.

Although it's tempting...

My New Scarf

So this is my new scarf from Henri Bendel's that I bought today. Now, I'm not trying to be a snob or anything, but I reeeeeeally wanted it. Yeah, it cost $70, but it was so cute! And I've been wanting a scarf for awhile. Perhaps I've been inspired by Miss Scarlet, who loves scarves and wears them all of the time. I figured that now was time for me to jump on the scarf bandwagon and get a really nice one right before the start of summer.

Now I just have to find something to wear with it! Oh boy.

In other news, my beloved Sweet Pea (aka my green Honda Civic) is currently ill and on death row. I always said that I would run that car into the ground before I sold it, and it looks like now that time has come.  I'll probably be going out this weekend to replace her with a 2011 Ford Escape (or a 2008 Honda Civic, if the Escape thingy falls through). I miss driving my car already and reeeeeeally wish that this had happened AFTER I graduated from school, but I guess she just couldn't hold out that long. It was probably meant to be.

Other than that, I've gotten the worst of my school work out of the way (I finished my study... I'm just writing the paper now) and my health is starting to improve. I feel great! I still have a ways to go, but I'm just happy to be making progress.

Whoo-hoo!
