My sarcastic post about nothing

I decided to make this post today for "no reason" at all (and put this random pic up here for the same reason).

That's because that has been the theme of my life for the last 2 years. Stuff has been happening to me for "no reason". At all.

It's difficult to explain, but that has been my reality since about July 2016.

Why, may you ask?

Drumroll please... because I am psychic. A powerful psychic, as I found out by surprise/I should have known. That's why.

Details will follow in further blog posts. For now, I'm trying to start writing again and use my blog to sarcastically vent about the last 2 years of my life which ended in disaster finally yesterday.

Yay, life. Shoot me already.

PS - Happy Anniversary, Snoopy.  Love, Woodstock :)

When will the madness end?

Seriously...

Still waiting, God. It's summer, and I'm missing out on fun in the sun. Can I go to the beach soon?

It's been a long time

It's been a while since I've blogged (about 5 months... wow). I've had some interesting shake ups in my life that have been keeping me from writing and blogging. I'll go through them quick.
  • I've been preoccupied with some personal issues
  • I got a new job, lost it and have been upset about it since
  • I haven't really talked to a lot of my friends
  • I've been a bit lonely
  • Life is WEIRD
That's basically what's been going on with me.

Just when I thought life couldn't get any weirder or stranger, it did. Over the last 5 months, I thought that I was going insane. My personal life got weird, my professional life got weird, my family life got strained... YIKES.

Unfortunately at this point in time in my life, I am unemployed. It sucks big time, but it is what it is.

There is a light at the end of the tunnel though. I DEFINITELY needed the time off. I had been looking to spending my days just chilling and hanging out for so long, it wasn't funny.

I do have some money to fall back on (whew), so I should be ok in the long run.

For now, I'm just enjoying not working and figuring out why my cable does not work. I've called Verizon so many times that it's not even funny.

Perhaps I can explain more in the future. Know for now that I am ok, and will be ok until about the end of the year.

Until then... who knows? Maybe I'll take another European vacation, maybe I'll finish my novel... who knows?

I look forward to my future journey. And will enjoy spending my free time on my couch :)

WTF

I swear... just when I thought my life was getting better... it just keeps getting crazier and crazier.

Dear God, let the madness end already.

Dear God Part 2

I thought about moving to England after today's election results, but then I remembered one thing - Brexit.

Moving to Paris is sure looking lovely right now.

Slapped in the face

Yeah, this is how I feel right about now.

Life (and people) tend to do this to us every now again. It sucks. Hard. I'm currently reeling over being slapped in the face earlier today. If I could explain the slapping in question on this blog, I would, but since my livelihood could take a beating, I'll just speak in generalities.

Getting slapped in the face can take a person in two directions - you can let your anger and frustration grow, give the middle finger to the perpetrators/life and go out with a bang, or you can suck it up, push your anger aside, and move positively forward from the crazy.

If only I could act on the former rather than the latter. I'd be like Scarface from Half Baked and do one of these numbers:

Ahhhh. That would be satisfying.

Oh well. All I can do is suck it up and move forward. It'll be hard (and there won't be a bone in my body that won't want to scream obscenities at the perpetrators/life), but I guess I can do it. I have goals I would like to achieve in the future, and perhaps this setback could give me the push that I need to get myself together and start reaching for them. I want to be a full time freelance writer/editor and novelist; I would love to get married and have children; I would like to be thinner and muscular, like I was in my 20's. I can achieve all of those, I think.

I'm still upset by the events of the day. I took some solace in reading a few websites about people who got screwed too (albeit their situations are different than mine), and I realized that I'm not the only one these things happen to, and there could be a light at the end of the tunnel. If you are having a bad day or just want something to read if you are feeling similarly screwed, click here and here.

Happy New Year and other stuff

Happy New Year to all!

Normally, I make New Year's resolutions, but this year, I'm not. If I'm going to do something, I'm just going to do it. If not, then I won't.

Yay.

Anyhoo, I've been enjoying my break from work this past week. I'm just so sad that it's going to be over soon.

And it's pouring down snow right now, so I may not make it to New York this weekend. I'm sad about that.

Also, I think I have reached the point of not only celebrity gossip fatigue, but Cumberbatch fatigue as well.

GASP! I know. And I haven't even seen The Dragon Movie (aka The Desolation of Smaug) yet either. Double GASP!

I still like the dude and all, but... I'm never going to meet him. Or see him. Or talk to him. EVER. So why blog or think about him all of the time?

I don't know. I guess I'm just burnt out. Maybe this will pass, but for right now, I'm over Cumberbatch.

Also, I spent most of my day today reading lots of celebrity gossip, and I'm just tired of it and the crazy stuff that people out in Hollywoodland do all of the time. Most of these people have no morals. And they are nuts. And most of the time, their movies are crap.

Perhaps I'm just having a sad moment b/c my NYC trip is probably not going to happen. That might be it.

But I do want to take a break from my gossip. I think I may start doing that. Right now.

PS - If I sound a little sad, I apologize. I really wanted to go to NYC this weekend :(

PPS - I'm still going to watch Sherlock though. I can separate the man from his show.

London, here I come

Yes folks... next year, on my 36th birthday (September 1st), I will be spending my time in the lovely place pictured above... London, England.

So, something very interesting happened to me on Monday morning... I arrived at work to find out that at my company X-mas party that previous Saturday night (I didn't go... I was too busy not wanting to buy a dress that I could never wear again), I had won the grand prize of the night (my company gives away gift certificates and prizes every year)! I won a $2K travel voucher to visit anyplace I wanted to in the world.

I KNOW!

I've never won anything in my life. Well, I did receive a few trophies growing up for my band and sports accomplishments, but I've never won anything like this.

I KNOW! LOL.

Anyhoo, my friends Dawn and Andy and I had been planning a trip to London for awhile... and now I have the funds to go! I'm so excited! We are going to spend 2 glorious weeks in Manchester (where Andy is from), London, Paris, and possibly Louin, France (Andy's parents have a summer home there).

I KNOW!

I can't believe it. I'm beyond excited.

I definitely have to see this London Eye. It's so pretty. And I'll be taking a lot of pictures. And I'll be eating some croissants, speaking French, and taking in all that is Paris.

The best part about this is that I get to visit the place that my novel is set in... it all takes place in London, with a few scenes scattered around Paris as well. I'm trying to decide if I want my characters to visit Moscow as well, but I don't know if I'm going to have the time to send them over there. We'll see.

And the other kicker in this situation... Cumberbatch is going to be on stage as Hamlet in London around the same time I'm visiting.

I KNOW!

This is all like a dream come true. 2013 has been the craziest year. It started off soooo crappy, and now it's ending on an unbelievable high note. I'm truly overwhelmed.

Next year is going to be a busy travel year for me... I'm going to NYC in January, ATL in May, then Seattle in July, and then London and Paris in September. WOW.

All I have to do now is get my passport... and then I'm off! Whoo-hoo!

Adjksdlfsldfwosifj

I am the laziest fuck to ever fucking exist, I swear.

Although lazy, I'm trying to get back on the path or writing, reading and exercising. It's taking some time. I'm trying to get over my mental laziness and hop on it. Slowly but surely, I'm getting there. But I could be moving faster.

Anyhoo... things that are coming down the pipeline:

August 3 - I'm making my way out to Baltimore to visit my friend Dawn in her new apartment. I can't believe she left VA to move to MD! But I know it was a necessary evil for her and her husband. I bet Andy is happier with his commute now.

August 8 - Back to Balto to see Justin Timberlake in concert. YAY!

September 1 - My 35th birthday. I was thinking about inviting friends to a local winery for a picnic. Hope some folks are free...

And then after that, my schedule is wide open. It's not like I have a bunch of things lined up for August, but I have some things that I'm looking forward to in the next 2 weeks or so.

My Cumberbatch obsession is reaching its breaking point. My mom tonight on the phone told me "just stop talking about him already". Pretty damn sad to have my own parent say that. After agonizing all weekend about him finding love with a Russian model (who apparently might be a gold digger of some kind), I think it's time to let him go. Granted, he may just be entertaining her temporarily (and being papped with her for publicity), but it's getting to that hour of moving on and liking someone who is accessible in the U.S.

Other than that, I'm hanging in there, as usual.

My non-interesting life and my lack of doing anything important

So, I was reading Hyperbole and a Half today... it's interesting to note that after a year and a half hiatus, Allie is back posting on her website.

While I was going through her site pages, I noticed that she has a link to a book that she's going to have published later on this year on Amazon.com. Hmmm... her site is really entertaining and all, but all she really writes about is her crazy life. I'm not knocking her or anything, her site is funny...  but then I started thinking to myself...

COULDN'T YOU WRITE A BLOG ABOUT THE SAME DAMN THING?!?!?!? YOU DO HAVE A MASTER'S DEGREE IN WRITING, DAMMIT!

You think that this would be what I would be doing in my spare time. But NOOOOO. I do nothing all day.

Infact, here's a list of things I have done thus far on this Saturday morning/afternoon:

Fed Sam
Brushed my teeth
Watched coverage of the George Zimmerman trial
Played Goldeneye (on the Wii)
Sat on the couch
Cooked breakfast while watching You Tube
Tweeted on Twitter
Searched for new Benedict Cumberbatch news (yeah, I know... sad)
Searched for tickets to the US Open in August (tennis)
Surfed the net (for 3 hours and counting now)
Made popcorn shrimp

Yeah. I have a lot of time on my hands. You think that with all of the time on my hands between my down time and my job, I would have written SEVENTEEN novels or something.

Seriously. SEVENTEEN NOVELS. Or something like that.

I don't know what it's going to take to get me in front of a computer again and write a story that isn't under 10 pages long. That seems to be my cutoff, for some reason. I've never seen myself as a novelist anyway. But that really doesn't matter...

I keep thinking that if Allie Brosh and all of the other bloggers out there can write in their spare time and make some money off of it, I can too. I could at least try.

Honestly and truly, I don't know if I have anything interesting to write about, as far as my life is concerned. I mean, it's not like I haven't been anywhere or done anything... but I don't know. I don't know if I have the juice or whatever to really turn my experiences into anything interesting.

Hmmm... I bet if I was offered a book deal, I could figure something out though!

Stagnation, sickness and other things I feel like talking about

So my life has been full of stagnation, sickness and lots of other random crap over the last month. I will highlight in list form:

I kind of sort of not really have been writing. Haven't felt too inspired lately.

I acquired some bacteria in my system that was making it's way up to my kidneys that caused me to go to the hospital for two days. It was annoying. But now I am feeling better.

I've been really lazy.

This is 40 was a pretty good movie. Oblivion was "meh".

I'm still obsessed with Benedict Cumberbatch. And Star Trek into Darkness comes out on Wednesday. And I am excited.

I am tired. More often than not.

I am uninspired.

So, stuff has been happening, but I've been really lazy. This crappy economy has really left me jaded, and my indifference and laziness towards it and everything else has motivated me to do absolutely nothing. I can't tell if this is just a pause in my life or just me really wanting to abandon everything and go live on the beach as a bum for the rest of my days.

Is this normal?

Hmmm. I don't know. I want to do stuff, but I can't seem to find a way to do it.

Meditating is really boring. And I haven't gotten any answers from it. Am I supposed to? I thought so... but still. Nothing.

I'm just here for now. I'm hoping that something exciting will happen or that I'll just get it together and move forward, but I don't know. I guess time will tell.

Sorry to be so boring.

PS - If you want to leave me a message on my blog, you have to do it through Open ID. Just type any name and email address in there. I'll still get it. You have to leave me a message this way (or use your Google account), b/c I really don't like spam in my Inbox.

Here's a pic of Benedict. That's all I got for now.

Rrrrr

This is pretty much what my car looks like after I got into a car accident this morning. Damage like this usually occurs when dumb-ass people on the Fairfax County Parkway slam on their brakes 24-7, and poor unsuspecting people like me end up hitting the people in front of them. Now granted, perhaps if I was really following the 4 second rule for driving behind someone in the rain, I wouldn't have a damaged car. Perhaps if I had anti-lock brakes, I wouldn't have a damaged car (my brakes locked up and my tires spun, and that's how I hit the person in front of me). Perhaps if I had just left the house 5 minutes earlier.... you get the idea.

Rrrrr. I just get tired of people in this area slamming on their brakes for NO REASON. And yes, they do it for no reason, b/c I can't even tell you how many countless times I've seen people do it on the road. I've seen people do it when the light is green and no one is in front of them! Seriously! It makes no sense. I mean, did everyone take their driving test like I did? It doesn't seem like it.

Fortunately, no one was injured, and it looks as if my car only suffered cosmetic damage. I think that my engine is fine (fingers crossed). I just spent all of my money getting my car fixed last month, so my whole deductible has to go on Mr. Visa card. Yay. And I don't say 'yay' with enthusiasm.

October had been a good month for the most part until today. If anything had been going a little downhill, it would be the fact that I'm really dragging my heels this semester. I still feel a little burned out from the summer (I know, it's been 3 months. You'd think I'd be over it by now). And, my health has been a little back and forth this semester, so that doesn't help much. But I'm hanging in there. Everyday I want to quit school because I'm so tired of going. I just try to remember that it'll be over in 7 months. May 19th can't get here fast enough!

Hope everyone is having a better day/month/whatever than I am.
