My sarcastic post about nothing
I decided to make this post today for "no reason" at all (and put this random pic up here for the same reason).
That's because that has been the theme of my life for the last 2 years. Stuff has been happening to me for "no reason". At all.
It's difficult to explain, but that has been my reality since about July 2016.
Why, may you ask?
Drumroll please... because I am psychic. A powerful psychic, as I found out by surprise/I should have known. That's why.
Details will follow in further blog posts. For now, I'm trying to start writing again and use my blog to sarcastically vent about the last 2 years of my life which ended in disaster finally yesterday.
Yay, life. Shoot me already.
PS - Happy Anniversary, Snoopy. Love, Woodstock :)

Um, drool
I saw this article today over on People.com about Alexander Skarsgard down in Australia visiting with some cute little animals, and when I saw this picture, I immediately started cooing, awwing and drooling over it.
I was late to the Alexander Skarsgard party, since I started marathoning True Blood around the time the 6th season aired. My sister and some of my friends who watched the show always talked about how much they liked Alexander, and of course about how cute he was long before I saw the show. I knew who he was, thought he was cute, but didn't pay attention to him too much because I didn't watch the show.
However, when my Mom bought me Chromecast for X-mas in 2013 and I started using HBO GO to watch Game of Thrones, I decided to sit down and watch True Blood as well, since I had some spare time in the evenings and since I had heard so many good things about the show.
I initially hated Alexander's character (Eric Northman), but something happened towards the end of Season 2 in which one scene, he did something that apparently I found to be really cute (I'm being coy, lol) and all of a sudden, I had a newly formed crush on him. It came out of nowhere. I couldn't stop thinking about this man for 3 days, lol.
No, seriously. I COULD NOT stop thinking about him for 3 days. It was like I was obsessed with him. It was scary!
The obsession/crush subsided (phew!), but I still really like Alexander. He was always one of the best things about True Blood, and he always cracked me up with his demeanor, funny jokes and of course, I enjoyed looking at his *physique* during the course of the show.
When I saw this pic online today, I just thought he looked really good in this picture. The aww factor comes from him looking lovingly at this little... uh, whatever animal this is, lol. A wallaby? Hmmm. I'm bad at naming Australian animals off the top of my head.
Anyhoo... just wanted to post this cute pic today. Looking forward to seeing Alexander in Legend of Tarzan when it comes out.
Update (6/17/16): The cute little animal pictured is a kangaroo (duh).

Spring is here!
I'm so happy that it's Spring. Today it is 80 degrees outside, and it's beautiful. Too bad I'm stuck indoors teleworking today. Luckily, I got up early to start working, so I can close up my laptop at 3:30pm and go outside and enjoy the weather.
Not too much going on with me. I was thinking about what I had planned for the summertime this year and it's not much. I plan on playing on my company softball team again (reliving my high school years, lol) and working out. That's about it. I'm still working on saving up money to go to Paris, but I might in fact go back to London instead, depending on how some things shake out. We'll see.
Until then, I'm just working, making money and surviving for now. My writing inspiration has unfortunately been coming slowly, but I'm hoping to make some progress soon. I have some great ideas swirling in my head that need to be put down on paper. Here's hoping that inspiration comes.

Happy New Year!
So... I'm back at work after a week and a half off. I really didn't do much over the holiday other than eat, sleep, get drunk on Christmas Eve with the family (don't worry, I spent the night at my Mom's house), get drunk with my friend Galynn on New Years Eve (don't worry, I live within walking distance of Ozzie's) and get fat, lol (um... I just kept eating). I'm not too thrilled getting back to the daily grind after enjoying doing absolutely NOTHING over the break. I currently miss doing nothing. It was great.
After having a pretty rough year last year, this year, I'm going to try and focus on working towards things in my life that make me happy and surrounding myself with people who make me happy as well.
Until then... it's back to work. I've got 3 tasks that I have to get completed today. Ugh. Work blows sometimes :)

Untitled
I haven't had too much to write lately, hence all of the quotes I keep putting up. I guess if I can talk about anything, it's the fact that it's unusually warm outside for the month of December. Not that I'm complaining, though. I enjoy warm weather. A lot, lol.
I hope it stays fairly warm this winter. Last winter almost killed me.
Other than that, not much else is going on in my life. I'm just trying to hang in there for the most part.
I did take off for the X-mas break though. I took off the last week and a half of the year to just sit back at home and relax. Perhaps I'll try and watch Orange is the New Black and get some much needed writing done, since I haven't written anything all year.
2015 hasn't been much of a good year for me, but since I've had a pretty rough last couple of years (hell, the last decade has been hard for me), I'll just throw this one in the pile of "oh well, you've dealt with worse", which I have. Long story.
As far as 2016 goes, I'm trying to plan a trip to Paris for my birthday. It's going to be expensive, but hopefully I'll be able to save up enough money to go. In the meantime, I'll just be looking at panoramic views of the Eiffel Tower on Google Maps and pretend eat a croissant while doing so. Ha ha ha.
If I don't blog anything again this month, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!

More New Stuff
So I just bought this cool bag. It's Tory Burch!
Anyone who knows me knows that I'm a huge tomboy. But I'm a huge tomboy that actually LOVES shoes and purses. We won't even get started on how many pairs of shoes I have (lots of tennis shoes, interestingly enough), how many Coach purses I have, how many Kate Spade purses I have, how many purses I have in general...
You get the drift.
My Mom recently gifted me with a pair of black Tory Burch wedges and of course, since I like to coordinate my clothes by wearing all of one specific designer, I had to go out and find a Tory Burch bag to go with them.
I don't know if that makes me snooty (well, I do live in Fairfax County, lol) or vain, or just someone who likes to be matchy. All I know is that I like to have my purse match my shoes, if I'm wearing a designer brand.
I also have 2 Coach purses that match 2 pairs of Coach shoes that I have. This actually occurred accidentally... I just happened to have a purse that matched a pair of Coach shoes my Mom bought me (my Mom loves to buy me nice designer stuff... love her) and then I just happened to have a purse that matched a pair of brown Coach flats I found on sale at DSW.
Maybe it was fate? Destiny? Ha ha ha... I think I'm just being silly.
Anyways, I can't wait until my new Tory Burch bag comes in the mail. I'm looking forward to carrying it!

Kickin' it old school
I was feeling in an old school mood today, so I busted out my Beverly Hills, 90210 T-shirt.
This was one of my favorite TV shows growing up, and when I saw this shirt at Old Navy a while back, I just had to buy it.
Not much else going on in my life right now, other than I just came back from London 2 weeks ago. It was an interesting trip, to say the least. I got sick, I lost my luggage, and I also lost $100 worth of souvenirs. WTF.
But, I made up for it in the end, by eating another glorious $100 meal at The Steakhouse in Harrod's, taking a lovely stroll through Queen Regent's Park, getting rained on (ha ha ha) and seeing my beloved Cumberbatch in Hamlet at the Barbican.
He was great.
Anyhoo, it's Friday, it's sunny outside, and I'm ready for the weekend.
Until next time...

Just because
I love Idris Elba. He's a good looking guy, and a good actor. And I can't wait for Luther to return to the screen!
I hope Alice is in the special, too. She's the best. *please please please*

To be young again
Memories... I was 22 years old in this picture, and I had just graduated from college. I was at Hats on the Belfry, a really cool shop down in Old Town, Alexandria, VA, hanging out with my friends Stephanie and Kim.
Stephanie, who was very fond of taking lots of pictures, asked me to pose for one, and I just thought to try and be cute in a funny hat that was in the store.
Don't remember much from that night other than taking that photo... but I'm sure we were all out having a good time.
I just wanted to post this today as I'm always of the opinion that there are very few nice photos of me in this world. This one just happens to be one of the few I happen to like a lot. And it put a smile on my face today.
A long, needed smile, after a rough several months. But I'm hanging in there.

It's a New Year
Haven't felt like writing really, even though it's a New Year and there is lots to look forward to in 2015. I'm working on a new blog site (at Square Space), and I'm trying to push through this writer's block that I've had for the last 4ish months.
It hasn't been easy, and it's really hard to explain why. I've had a lot of weird things (and I'm talking WEIRD) happen to me over the last 2 years, and it culminated in a lot of craziness between September 2014 and January 1, 2015. Trust me - you wouldn't believe me if I told you. You. Just. Wouldn't.
Other than that, I'm doing ok. I've lost some weight, I got a good raise at work, and like I said, I'm trying to work through my writer's block. I'm looking forward to good things this year. Hopefully all of the things I'm striving and working toward will happen.
Fingers crossed.

Otter Love
I don't know what it is about otters... but I go CRAZY every time I see one.
It's really weird. Most people really like cats or dogs. I mean, I like cats and dogs too, but there is just something about that darn sea otter that I adore.
I remember when I was a little girl when my class took a trip to an aquarium. I think I was in the 5th or 6th grade. Anyhoo... there were lots and lots of cool things to see at the aquarium, of course, but when we got to the sea otter tank, I immediately was filled with this overwhelming feeling of complete and utter love.
To this day, I have no idea where that love came from.
I remember staring at the tank. I think the otters were hiding away, and all I could do was telepathically try and communicate with them to come out of hiding so that I could see them, lol (eventually, they did). I mean, my eyes and thoughts were FIXED on that tank. I can remember the image of me staring at them in my head as we speak.
I also remember being a little TOO obsessed with them around that time after my class visited the aquarium as well. I think I remember driving my mom crazy talking about them so much (sorry, Mom). Honestly, I don't know what it is... but it's just something about that animal... I just adore the sea otter. So much.
Part of me thinks that I'm a little nutty for having such a huge crush on this animal. But I know I'm not alone. I fondly remember the interview Kristen Bell gave on Ellen DeGeneres' show about her insane love for sloths. It was hilarious.
And it was nice to know that I'm not the only person out there with an extreme fondness for one of the world's cutest and funniest little animals.
If you haven't seen the interview with Kristen and Ellen, watch it below. It's hysterical.
